Our Staff

David S. Smith, Pastor

After a tour of duty with the United States Navy, David earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston. Before entering ministry, he owned and operated Charlestowne Glass Studio for ten years. Upon answering the call to ministry, he entered Duke Divinity School, earning the master of divinity degree. He served two churches in the area of Moncks Corner, Ebeneezer UMC and Smyrna UMC, for six years. Before coming to North Charleston UMC, David served Epworth UMC (James Island, SC) for twelve years. Married in 1974, he and his wife, Joyce, have three grown children, Jeremy, Andrew, and Anna.
